I've worked with Maura to purchase and sell a home in Ann Arbor. She's been great! Maura knows the area well. She found neighborhoods that fit my needs and price range. We looked at several homes to get a feel for the market. The last house that we looked at was a perfect fit! When it was time to sell, Maura Rains was the first person to come to mind. We researched several homes to make a competitive price and Maura identified the best bang-for-buck improvements to make.
She went out of her way to keep an eye on the house and help out while I was out of state. That really reduced stress! Maura ran several open houses and kept a steady stream of buyers interested in the property. This was impressive, given that the house went on the market in the middle of winter! Maura Rains was amazing and worked with us at every step of the way from listing to the sale of our home. She was in constant contact, helping us navigate the open house, offers, and requirements for closing. We relied on Maura to help with so many of the requirements we were unfamiliar with as our closing approached and she made sure that every deadline was met and helped us close with no problems. Maura Rains was our real estate agent in both the buying and selling of our homes. Maura is exceptional. She is unbelievably knowledgeable, dedicated, hard-working, approachable, patient and an absolute pleasure to work within the crazy and stressful world of real estate. Maura did not have it easy with us. We had a dream of finding the perfect historic home in a perfect historic town.
We searched for over a year within a large area. We still feel bad about making Maura drive so much. Maura was incredibly patient and helped us avoid making bad decisions. Every time we walked through a house, she made sure to look for problems related to foundation, roofing, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, etc. We honestly don’t know how she knows so much about everything (e.g., construction, financing, contractors, etc.). Maura always pointed out potential issues but never pressured us one way or the other.
Maura’s goal was to make sure we were fully informed to allow us to make the best decision. Once we found our perfect house, it didn’t get any easier. We fell in-love with a historic house that was a duplex (of course) that we wanted to convert back to a single family home. This meant difficult appraisals, financing, tenant issues, etc. to the point we almost gave up. Maura kept us going and also buffered and sheltered us from people with difficult personalities who were involved in the sale.
Thanks to Maura, we are now living in our dream home. Maura was also just as amazing in the sale of our existing home. Her marketing approach was incredibly effective and really the best of the best. We had multiple offers on our house in a few short days. We accepted an offer only four days after we listed that was significantly above our asking price along with excellent terms.
Maura knows what she is doing and you should listen to her. We cannot fathom going through the process of selling and buying a home without Maura. We are thankful for everything she did for us. We know she did so much behind the scenes, and we are grateful. Having Maura represent you in your real estate transaction will be one of the best decisions you can make. You will be in excellent and capable hands.

I have bought and sold several properties for investment and personal use in the last few years and along the way have interacted with multiple real estate professionals in both Michigan and Indiana. I am compelled to reach out to you and pass along some feedback regarding my experience with Ms. Rains.
My experience working with Maura was nothing short of outstanding. Her professionalism was unmatched and attention to detail of customer experience was excellent, from the fantastic marketing brochure that she put together (not all agents do this) and the insistence on professional lawn care right down to the feeling of the key in front door. (It was catching a little, she recommended tuning this up.) I was in a weak cash flow position earlier this year and Maura worked with me to sell the house quickly and efficiently without breaking the bank on expenses. When I wanted to cut corners on the staging, we found an effective middle ground, focusing on strategic areas of the house that needed attention. She accepted inputs from me willingly and cheerfully (when other agents might become defensive) and her gentle but firm nudges to get certain documents etc. addressed were cheerful and timely, which was perfect given my challenging international travel schedule and many external distractions.
The final proof, though is in the results. Where another agent failed to sell this property a few months before, Maura sold the house for me this summer in just weeks on the market, at a selling price that I am satisfied with. As advertised. No hiccups.
In short it was a pleasure to work with Maura Rains and I will not hesitate to call her again the next time I need to sell a property. For selfish reasons I am reluctant to refer her to broadly to other sellers but will absolutely do so to those within my trusted inner circle :). You are already aware that you are lucky to have her on your team but I wanted to pass along another data point for your collection.
